Risk disclosure policy for Buying, Selling & Trading Bitcoin & other Cryptocurrency with CCOTC London, UK:

 

  • You must be satisfied that cryptocurrency investing is suitable for you in light of your financial circumstances and attitude towards risk before starting.

  • The price or value of cryptocurrencies can rapidly increase or decrease at any time (and may even fall to zero).

  • The risk of loss in holding cryptocurrencies can be substantial.

  • Funds received by us in relation to cryptocurrency transactions will not be safeguarded (under the UK Electronic Money Regulations 2011) or covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

  • Funds received by us are for the purposes of Cryptocurrency trading only and will be held in a non-interest bearing account.

  • We do not make any representation regarding the advisability of transacting in cryptocurrency.

  • We cannot guarantee the timeliness, accurateness, or completeness of any data or information used in connection with you holding any exposure to cryptocurrencies.

  • Cryptocurrencies are not classified as a regulated product under the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and as such dealings in these products are not subject to UK FCA protection.

  • CCOTC is not an FCA Authorised firm so any advice or dealing procedures in relation to Cryptocurrencies is unregulated and does not fall under FCA Investor protection.

  • Cryptocurrencies do not fall within the scope of FCA regulation so risks relating to; liquidity, spread and best execution apply.

  • Cryptocurrency prices can vary across different exchanges and best execution regulations do not apply.

  • CCOTC will endeavour to execute on best execution but can only deal on exchanges where they have liquidity so best execution is not guaranteed.

  • Bid/Offer spreads can be much wider on Cryptocurrencies compared to more mature asset classes such as equities, FIAT currencies, Bonds and Commodities.

  • Due to Cryptocurrencies being tradeable across different exchanges, volume is diluted and as such increased price volatility can occur.

  • Cryptocurrencies are an immature asset class and certain restrictions and delays can apply relating to transactions, withdrawals and deposits.

  • Exchanges can temporarily shut down or place daily restrictions on transactions and withdrawals.

  • Cryptocurrency transfers have no intermediary body to manage mistakes or rectify errors. If we are transferring Crypto to an address you have provided, we take no responsibility for any mistakes as a result of the wrong address provided.
